POPPN Inc. ("POPPN," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use the POPPN mobile application ("App") and related services ("Services").
By using the Services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2.3 Information from Third Parties
- Social Login: If you sign in with Apple, Google, or another third-party provider, we receive your name, email, and profile photo as permitted by that provider
- Venue Data: We obtain venue information (name, address, hours, category) from Google Places API and other data providers
- Analytics Providers: We may receive aggregated analytics data from tools like Amplitude or Mixpanel
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
Core Service Delivery
- Display nearby venues on the map based on your location
- Show and organize user-posted video/photo content on venue pages
- Calculate and display real-time Vibe Scores and status badges
- Track and display your Scout Rank progression
- Store and display your Memories timeline
- Enable the camera-first posting experience
Personalization
- Recommend venues based on your location, history, and preferences
- Customize your feed and map experience
- Show you content from venues and scouts you've engaged with
Communication
- Send you service-related notifications (e.g., rank upgrades, venue activity)
- Send launch updates and product news (you can opt out anytime)
- Respond to your support requests
Safety & Security
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations
- Moderate user-generated content
- Protect the security and integrity of the Services

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

5. Location Data — Special Notice
Location data is central to how POPPN works. Here's how we handle it:
- When we collect it: Only when you grant location permission through your device settings. You can use the app with limited functionality without granting location access.
- Precision: We use precise GPS data to show nearby venues and calculate distances. We do not continuously track your location in the background unless you explicitly enable background location for check-in features.
- Storage: Your location data is processed in real time for map features. Location history associated with check-ins and posted content is stored as part of your activity.
- Control: You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings. This may limit map functionality.
6. Data Retention
- User Content: Videos and photos posted to venue feeds are automatically deprioritized after 30 days in alignment with our real-time focus. Content stored in your Memories is retained until you delete it or your account.
- Account Data: We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.
- Usage & Analytics Data: Aggregated and anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely for service improvement.
- Waitlist Data: Email addresses submitted through the waitlist are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
7. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data and account
- Portability: Request your data in a portable, machine-readable format
- Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications at any time
- Restrict Processing: Request that we limit how we use your data
- Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing where consent is the legal basis

8. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Secure authentication through Supabase Auth
- Regular security assessments and monitoring
- Access controls limiting employee access to personal data
- Secure cloud infrastructure with row-level security policies
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
POPPN is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a user under 18, we will delete that information immediately. 10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You can request details about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we've collected
- Right to Delete: You can request deletion of your personal information
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell your personal information to third parties

- Apple / Google Sign-In: Social authentication
